NEW! Senior Parent Information. Below are the documents from our Senior Parent Information night, including the PowerPoint and Running Start Senior Project information. If you have additional questions, please contact your student’s counselor.

Senior Ads for Yearbook: Families of seniors may purchase an ad for the yearbook. Orders are due by January 22, 2009. The order form and additional information be found by clicking here.

Senior Portraits for Yearbook: Photos are due by Friday, October 30 to Ms. Obukowicz. Pictures are to be in print, no disks are accepted. Picture size is 2.5x3.5 inches. The background is informal with no flags, figures, symbols or numbers allowed. Most professional photographers are aware of these specifications

Community Service: Students will need to complete 8 hours of community service for graduation. Details about the community service requirement will be reviewed in government classes in September and may also be viewed here: http://shs.sno.wednet.edu/communityservice/

Senior Class and Graduation Items: Jostens is our official contact for class rings, gowns, announcements, etc. Jostens will be on site several times in the fall for ordering and graduation items will arrive in the spring. You can contact Jostens at 800-840-9130 or through their website at www.jostens.com

Graduation: Thursday, June 17 at 4:00pm. Students will need to be in the line-up tunnel by 3:30pm.

Graduation Dress Code: Dress as if you are going out to a nice brunch with your grandmother. Male graduates will need to wear long pants and appropriate shoes. Female graduates will need to wear skirts or long pants and appropriate shoes. Flip flops are not allowed. As graduates will need to be navigating stairs and walking across the stage, we discourage students from wearing high-heeled shoes.

Students may wear only official academic regalia with their cap and gown. This includes National Honor Society and Art Honor Society cords, Fankhauser Scholar medals, Panther Pride pins, and flag pins received in Government class. Students are not allowed to write on their caps or gowns. Any messages on attire will result in the student not being allowed to participate. Corsages, leis and other adornments to the cap and gown are also not permissible.

Graduation Tickets: As of this writing, we know that every student will receive 10 tickets for graduation and will be able to request additional tickets. At this point we don’t know how many extra tickets or how we will handle that process. We will have more information available about tickets in the late winter/early spring.

Graduation Participation: Seniors may participate in the graduation ceremony if they:

  1. Have passed all required courses and earned 22 semester credits.
  2. Have passed the Reading, Writing and Math sections of the WASL or approved alternative.
  3. Have completed the eight-hour community service requirement and turned in required documentation.
  4. Have had credit reinstated in classes required for graduation if credit was lost due to excessive absences.
  5. Are not under a suspension or expulsion at the time of the graduation ceremony.
  6. Have paid all fines and fees owed to Snohomish High School.
  7. Have satisfactorily completed all sections of the senior project. The senior project is an assignment in the government class.

When will the caps and gowns we ordered from Jostens be distributed?

Caps and gowns will be distributed on April 22nd during both lunches and April 24th after school in the Old Gym. Please be advised that the gown may need to be ironed with a cool iron prior to graduation. I would not recommend ironing the stole; the color runs. Caps and gowns not picked up by April 24th will be returned to Jostens in Marysville for pickup. If you need to contact Jostens, the phone number is 800-840-9130. Their office is located at 1716 Fourth Street in Marysville.
