Drug Abuse Research Pathfinder
1. S.H.S. LIBRARY ONLINE CATALOG http://192.168.221.249:9000/webopac/main?siteid=1
You can
search by keyword, author, title, subject, and other things, or you can do a
“power search,” also known as a Boolean search (AND, OR, BUT NOT).
Drug Search Tips
When searching for a book about a drug, type the name of the drug then click the Subject button.
To see if the drug is listed somewhere else in a book description, click the Keyword button.
Many books about drugs may not be listed by the name of the specific drug. You should also try the type of drug, such as psychedelics, inhalants, etc.
Be sure to write down the call numbers of all the books that interest you.
Also, check to see if the book is “in” or “out” before you look on the shelves.
The Sno-Isle Regional Library System online catalog can be found at http://www.sno-isle.org .
2. ENCYCLOPEDIAS. The encyclopedia should be your first step for most research projects.
Our general encyclopedias are housed in the reference section starting with the call number R 031.
