Within Reach is a Snohomish High School student club that publishes our
literary and arts magazine annually each Spring. Meetings are usually held on
Fridays after school in the Library.
Student submissions of poetry, short stories, essays, photography, artwork and
calligraphy will be accepted until February 1st. Then the student editorial
staff evaluates and selects work to be included in the next issue.
Once selections have been made, the students begin the process of typesetting,
layout, and preparing the issue for the printer. Last year the club published
the first issue to contain some color pages. Depending on funding (ASB support
will be reduced this year), the club hopes to include color again this year.
Our goal is to have each yearly issue available for release in conjunction
with the annual Snohomish High School Night of the Arts in May.

Students of
Snohomish High School and Snohomish Freshman Campus may submit works (poetry,
short stories, essays, photography, artwork or calligraphy) to the library.
Works may also be submitted electronically by sending an attachment (Word,
RTF, JPEG, or GIF) to WithinReach.Magazine@mac.com. Be sure to include your name, title of the
work(s), and whether or not you wish to use a pen name or remain anonymous if
your work is selected for publication. Submissions will not be returned, so be
sure you keep an original copy for your records.
