Hammer Throw Information
The Eason Invitational will once again conduct a hammer competition. The hammer will be thrown on Saturday April 18, 2009. The men will throw at 8:30 AM with the women's competition to follow. The hammer will be a scoring event this year and medals and ribbons will be awarded. All participants must adhere to the following pre-competition guidelines:
The hammer competition is sanctioned by the WIAA and National Federation Rules as an exhibition competition for the Eason Invitational. Tuck Gionet and the Snohomish School District have done everything possible to ensure a safe and successful competition and clinic. To this end it is imperative that each school sending a hammer throw competitor take the time to make sure that each athlete is eligible under both WIAA and school rules. All athletes are required to demonstrate compliance with those rules of eligibility in Article 18 of the WIAA handbook and any corresponding school rules and regulations. Due to issues currently pending with the WIAA, participants will not be allowed to wear a school singlet. However, this will be a scoring event and awards will be given to the top placers. Registration for the hammer throw is through the athletes registration link.
You must have a parent/coach accompany you to the meet and you must have a signed permission form (Download here.). No exceptions!!
Competitors in this event must have been coached and trained in the proper throwing techniques for the hammer prior to competition.
