Meeting with a school counselor
- Students can access their counselor without an appointment, before or after school, during Panther Period, or at lunch.
- If the counselor is not available, students may use the QR code or fill out a “Request to see Counselor” form in the counseling office and request to be called for a meeting.
How to meet with your school counselor
- On-campus students: Drop-in five-minute appointments are available to students before school, lunch, and after school. Students needing more time, please fill out a request to see counselor form in the counseling office.
- Running Start students: Running Start students need an appointment to meet with their counselor. Please email Carolyn Welch or call the counseling office at 360-563-4050
- Parents/guardians: Parents should schedule an appointment with their child's counselor. Counselors do not meet with parents on a drop-in basis. Please email Carolyn Welch or call 360-563-4050 for an appointment.
Student schedules
- Students are expected to complete courses they registered for (yearlong or semester).
- Counselors will meet with students to review their schedule if they are missing a graduation requirement, they do not have a complete schedule and/or if the student is misplaced in a course sequence.
- If extenuating circumstances require a student to request a course be dropped after ten (10) school days into a
new semester:- A “Request to Drop a Course” form must be completed and signed by the student and parent/guardian.
- The form should be submitted to the counselor who will seek administrative approval or denial. If a “drop” is approved and the student is passing the course, the student will receive a “W” grade on their transcript and will not earn credit. If the student is not passing the course, an “F” grade will appear on the transcript. Credit will not be earned for either an “F” nor “W” grade.
